In September 2011, AACC was named the lead partner of a 10-college consortium that received a $19.7 million Department of Labor grant to provide training for high-demand jobs in STEM fields. During the summer of 2012, the college opened the Center for Cyber and Professional Training in Hanover which houses 13 specialized labs, a testing center and faculty support space. Also in 2012, AACC reopened its renovated and expanded Andrew G. Truxal Library with a focus on learning and success. The beautiful award-winning facility recently earned a LEED Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, along with other architectural awards.
Located in Anne Arundel County in Maryland near historic Annapolis - home to the U.S. Naval Academy, AACC is conveniently located just minutes from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and downtown Baltimore and is not far from Washington, D.C. Also bordering the beautiful Chesapeake Ba! y, the county has 437 miles of waterfront.
Faculty members are expected to serve on departmental and college committees, advise students, pursue professional development and participate in community and business partnerships, research and grants. They should also be prepared to use technology and learning outcomes assessment to enhance classroom teaching and show commitment to innovation, teaching excellence, and a teaching/learning focus.
College teaching experience is preferred.
