Bi-Lingual applicants are encouraged to apply. The Department of Corrections is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill a vacant Correctional Treatment Coordinator I/II, Pre-Trial Investigator position, grade Q-18/21, within its Population Management Division.
This is a d! ually allocated entry-level professional position where work is performed under close supervision of a higher level Correctional Treatment Coordinator. Work is reviewed through periodic and annual performance appraisals, conferences, reports and observations of the incumbent's productivity and program effectiveness.

Examples of Work:
Incumbent conducts thorough and complete computer criminal history checks of all detainees entering the facility utilizing all criminal computer networks including: departmental Computer Information Management System (CIMS), Inmate Accounting System; PROMIS; CJIS; FBI and MILES; conducts thorough and complete interviews of all detainees utilizing basic interviewing/interrogation skills, techniques and procedures to obtain information; reviews all inmates incarcerated on minor misdemeanor charges for Disposition Court; reviews cases with the Public Defender and State's Attorney for approval; represents the Pre-Trial Section i! n presenting Disposition Cases to the Court; advises Court of ! defendant's compliance on Program; prepares reports; maintains liaison with other public safety agencies; and assists in training of new personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Business/Public Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, professional level experience in a correctional service program performing research, conducting interviews, or counseling of individuals/groups will be considered. EACH APPLICANT MUST INCLUDE INFORMATION WHICH CLEARLY DEMONSTRATES THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.

Additional Information:
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT : Upon selection, applicant must:
1. Be willing to work in a correctional facility.
2. Possess a valid driver's license.
3. Pass an extensive background investigation.
4. Pass a drug screen and subsequent random drug screens.
5. Be willing to work shift and weekend hours! .
6. Pass a physical examination that includes TB testing.
7. Be willing to conduct field/site interviews in the community.

DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY : Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligibles which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.

ELIGIBILITY TO WORK : Under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, an employer is required to hire only U.S. citizens and lawfully authorized alien workers. Applicants who are selected for employment will be required to show and verify authorization to work in the United States.
